The MCD will soon be able to provide effective single-window services to Delhiites and integrate the information system across all its departments and offices through an ambitious e-governance project.

The Standing Committee, a key decision-making panel of the civic body, today gave its nod to the project to implement ICT-based e-governance solution across the organisation.

"The project will help streamline the system, increase efficiency of citizen services, bring in transparency and ensure proper monitoring of works," an MCD official said.

The contract for the Rs 180 crore project has been given to Tech Mahindra which will build the ICT-based platform, operate it, provide maintenance and train the MCD staff before transferring it to the civic body after five years.

"The main benefits will be single window system for public services and intra-department link-up.
