Japanese companies have reportedly incurred heavy losses by Chinese-made illegal copies of their goods. For this, a joint delegation from the Japanese private and public sectors will visit China from June 4 to discuss intellectual property rights issues.
The mission of the International Intellectual Property Protection Forum, a private-sector body, and government officials will aim to promote cooperation with China on intellectual property protection.
They will also urge the Chinese side to take stronger steps against fake products. The delegates will also visit related government organizations and judicial bodies to request a crackdown on illegal copies.
Before the mission, a working-level delegation will soon visit China to submit a list of Japanese requests and projects in which Japan can cooperate.
